Registration

Join us for the 2026 Manitoba Envirothon! By registering, you are committing your team to participate in the Regional competitions, being held around the province in April, 2026. From there, winning teams will be sent to the Provincial competition at the Tim Hortons Camp in the Whiteshell Provincial Park from May 21 - 23, 2026.

New for This Year: Two Participation Streams at Regionals

This year, we are excited to offer two ways for teams to engage in the Regional event:

1. Competitive Stream

Teams choosing this stream will actively compete at the Regional level and will be eligible to advance to the Provincial competition based on their performance.

2. Experiential Stream

This non-competitive option allows teams to participate in the Regional event for the educational experience, without the pressure of competition. These teams will not be eligible to move on to Provincials. After the event, they will receive copies of their tests and answer keys for self-assessment and learning. This stream will be on a first come first serves basis, based on availability.

Teams are made up of 5 students and can be from mixed grades. Schools are welcome to register more than one team, but must register each team on a separate form and have their own advisors. Only one registration form per team should be submitted.

FEES

Regional event: $200.00 per team

Provincial event: $2,000.00 per team

Registration will close on February 13th, 2026.

The Manitoba Envirothon Regional Competitions are hosted at various locations throughout Manitoba between April 13 and April 23, 2026. There are five different locations hosting the event, and teams register at the closest location. The registration fee for the Regional Competition is $200 per team.

New in 2026! Teams can choose how they would like to participate at the Regional Competition!

- Teams that register in the Competitive Stream will be graded and compete against other graded teams, with the opportunity to advance to the Provincial Competition based on their performance.

o   Competitive Stream teams invited to the Provincial Competition will have an additional registration fee of $2,000 per team for the provincial event.

o   The Provincial Competition will take place from May 21-23, 2026 at the Tim Hortons Foundation Camp, located in the Whiteshell Provincial Park.

- Teams that register in the Experiential Stream will take part in the Regional event specifically for the learning and hands-on experience, but will not have the opportunity to advance to the Provincial Competition.

There are lots of ways students can look for support! Here are some ideas to get you started:

  • Contact your local watershed district to ask if they offer funding or support for student programs.

  • Reach out to local businesses in your community to see if they sponsor high school students.
Tip: Look for businesses that focus on environmental education, sustainability, or stewardship.

  • Ask local banks or credit unions if they offer community grants or sponsorships for students or schools.

  • Connect with nearby colleges and universities to see if they have outreach programs, youth initiatives, or funding opportunities for high school students.

  • Check out the Sponsor Winnipeg program or contact Sponsor Winnipeg directly for more information.

  • Talk with your parents, relatives, coaches, or mentors to see if their workplaces offer sponsorships or support for students.
